How do I change the camera or micrphone I use during a consultation?

HiDoq will connect to the camera and microphone designated by your browser. If you are using a Mac or PC and you want to change the camera or microphone your browser uses for HiDoq, follow the instructions below.

Chrome

If you are using Chrome and want to change the designated camera or microphone:

  • At the top right, click More (three dots) and then Settings.
  • Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
  • Click Camera or Microphone.
  • Designate the camera and/or microphone of your choice.

Edge

If you are using Edge and want to change the designated camera or microphone:

  • At the top right, click More (three dots) and then Settings.
  • Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
  • Click Camera or Microphone.
  • Designate the camera and/or microphone of your choice.

Firefox

When you give HiDoq permission to access your browser's camera and microphone you will also be able choose which camera or microphone you want to use for HiDoq.

If you change your mind or chose the wrong device initially, then you will need to remove those permissions and start the permission process again. You do this by:

  • Clicking the lock icon that displays in the address bar on the left.
  • Click the x next to Allowed, Allowed Temporarily, Blocked or Blocked Temporarily to clear the status.
  • Refresh the page and Firefox will ask again for permission for our site at which point you can choose the devices of your choice.

Safari

When you give HiDoq permission to access your browser's camera and microphone you it will use the camera and micrphone defaults for your system.

Please change the settings in System Preferences (on a Mac) or Control Pannel (on Windows).
